Talking to some friends last night and the conversation of HRP, the real estate was sold in November of 2019. I haven't been able to get any more details than this. Is it true, who bought it, and what is the future of drag racing in S. E. Texas?

From Competition Plus:
HOUSTON RACEWAY PARK MOVING FORWARD AS PLANNED In drag racing circles, there has been some recent talk about the future of Houston Raceway Park. On Thursday, a Houston Raceway Park spokesman told Competition Plus the real estate of Houston Raceway Park was sold but not the business. The racetrack is still open for business as scheduled, nothing will change. Last January, Houston Raceway Park, home of the NHRA SpringNationals in Baytown, Texas, outside of Houston, signed a new multi-year relationship that changed the name of the 30-year-old facility to Houston Raceway Park powered by Pennzoil. NHRA’s Mello Yello Series Mopar Express Lane SpringNationals will take place April 17-19 during the 2020 season. http://www.competitionplus.com/drag-...orward-planned |
