If your car has a tendency to break bellhousings, yes. I would recommend taking the trans case to a competent machinist so it can be cut and the bell housing be registered so that it can be installed properly.

I wouldn't pull my trans out just to put one on , but if it's already out,its a no brainer,,considering the cost.

There is absolutely NO need to install a ultra bell on your tranny...UNLESS you are cracking the case. After you have cracked ONE case,...it’s a lifesaver....of course my ole buddy Captain Jack cracked 2 cases before he bought the bell.....

Its the best way to go if you are in a class that requires a guard on the flywheel/ Bell housing. I have done several on Powerglides and they work real well.

If you use a Bell that is easily removed and sent back for recert and a good quality Trans blanket, you'll save much $$ and frustration.....Worked for me!!

They are nice and strong but they are also thicker and bigger. That might be a factor in a car with a stock floorpan transmission tunnel. I have a 3rd gen F body and the drivers side is very tight to the bell.
