Came across a old style torque wrench that has the NHRA logo,and sticker that says"class winner" on it .Anyone know what year NHRA gave these out to class winners?

Weren't they made by Sturtevant? Seems they were prizes in the early to mid 60's.

probably 1964----they gave them out to all the eliminator winners along with trophy/craftsman tools etc.

Dwight, I believe that you're correct. The owner/driver of the car that eventually lured me into this business was a class winner in A/SA at Indy in 1964. If I recall correctly, the torque wrench was a part of a basic set of tools and a tool box that he brought home from that trip. Another prize was a set of black and gold uniforms for the driver and crew that had been provided by Hurst. To the best of my knowledge, no one ever wore the uniforms at the track. They were a bit flashy for our tastes so, about ten years ago, I donated mine to the NHRA Museum in Pomona.
