Steve was looking for something different for the magazine that is why he approached me about finishing the Fairlane as a race car. I had changed my mind and it was going to be a street car until he shared his plan with me. He wanted to feature a lot of the build in the magazine along with the engine build with dyno numbers followed with testing at the track. I told him I wanted to make it a GT Super Stocker and he liked that idea. We were just getting ready to put together a plan as to what engine we were going to build when all this happened.

So have they even told you what they're gonna do now? That's scary...

The Fairlane was moved out of the storage warehouse this morning and waiting to get in the shop.

Ready to start installing the Painless wiring harness and control panel. Once this story is finished the magazine will be ready to go to the printers.

Rusty,, I hope they don't use any photos from the passenger side,,, that looks like a Chevy Nova in the background,,,, not appropriate for a Ford magazine.LOL

WOW - - That has got to put a crimp in the plans. It looks like work is continuing, so good luck and can't wait to see the finished product. I love the look of this car. Reminds me of the way these cars looked when raced new and on into the 70's and even the 80's. Much better than the current crop of s/s cars. I LOVE old school super stockers.

I'm an old school racer at heart. I raced the 1969 Mustang in the picture and won SS/GA class at Pomona in 1972 and still have it.

Steve Baur at this time will be a freelance writer and we will be moving forward with the build featured in Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine.

Well, that's one issue I'll be buying! Normally can't see buying a magazine that's solely full of the same cookie cutter cars. pg5, a $100,000 mustang, pg10, another $100,000 mustang but a different colour, pg 25, yet ANOTHER mustang with a different paint job...yawn...

Or am I thinking of "modified mustang" or "mustang monthly" or any one of a dozen "mustang only" mags.

Beautiful car and whatever it's in I'll buy to see;
(1) a class car.
(2) a ford other than a mustang.

Read all about the wiring install in an upcoming issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine.
