Default Bill Bader Sr.

One of the nicest guys in racing is having a little pain and hearing from you just might lift his spirits.

He is in the throws of his second knee replacement. He had one done several months ago and has just had the second done a couple of weeks ago. As you could expect his rehab has to be a real B$$$$.

Doing well, but we all need a pick me up on occasion.

Please send a card to:

Bill Bader Sr.

I will call Bill. Is he in Ohio or in the Northwest? Having 2 knees already, I share his pain. I call him every so often, and we had a really nice visit in Norwalk this year. Thanks for the heads up. Knees hurt, but with the pain comes a fairly fast recovery unless other problems set it.

He had the surgeries at the Cleveland Clinic, and I believe he is rehabbing in Norwalk. I'm headed out to the SMP employee holiday party Wednesday. If he isn't there I'll ask Billy how things are going and give you guys an update.

Just an update for everyone...I attended our SMP employee party last night. Bill Sr. was not there but Bill Jr. told me thing are going excellent. Sr. has full range of motion in the first knee replaced and is progressing well with the second one. He's about two weeks away from driving a car, but has been driving everyone else nuts in the process. Jr. says Bill will remain in the area until after the SMP banquet in late January, then will head back to Idaho.

Left a voicemail for Bill. He and I are the same age, and now we have the same knees. Does that sound really strange? I look forward to hearing from my friend cause that stuff really hurts, but my healing has been complete. I'm sure he will do fine. It's that time when the Physical Therapist throws you on the table, grabs your foot and puts it behind your ear and your hands are imbedded in the table frame and the tears are rolling out your eyes, and he says "You're doing fine".

Jeff,
You are absolutely right. Those Physical Therapists can make a grown man cry. It is one of those things where the "No Pain, No Gain" saying really applies. I remember one of mine, nice looking little gal, always got me in a painful position and would say, "A little tight this morning, aren't we"
well there was no "We" to it. It was always ME! I always accused her of hating men because she hurt every man that she put her hands on.
Wishing Mr. Bader the best and to have a speedy recovery.

BTW: "and now we have the same knees"
Wow, what a mental picture of you two guys walking.... Ugly!! :~)

Would you please post a Thank You to all those who are sending cards to me. It is really nice to hear from everyone, especially some from quite a few years ago.

And then remind me to murder Fred!
