I told Peter to use Purple Hornies or Cherry Bomb's. Thrush mufflers rust out too fast from all the salt on the roads during winter driving.

Hi Peter, cool car, but I gotta ask, are those racing photos taken at the Port Alberni (B.C.)Airport drags?? If so, it certainly seems to work well, especially for a blacktop "track" that sees cars on it only one weekend a year. Are you from the Island?

Don, don't be giving away all my advantages, eh.

Rory, yes these photos are taken at "Thunder in the Valley 2011".

Island boy for sure, eh.

I hope you can drop a daily vote and/or video run for my entry.

I noticed this thread had kind of fallen off the face of the earth! Just to maybe give it a second wind--Peter's efforts to field this car are quite remarkable considering he is an unknown guy living on an island on the west coast of Canada. Think how difficult it would be to build any racecar without a collection of "contacts", then once you get the car done, have to take a two hour ferry boat ride before you can drive to the nearest dragstrip. A lot of racers bemoan the demise of the small grassroots racer, now is the chance to help support what is truly an example of a racer the way it was. Thanks

Again, I wish to offer thanks to everyone here for supporting this entry at the Alwaysachampion - Search for a Champion 2012 Sponsorship Competition.

I also wish to thank all those that supported my build (as mentioned previously "a homebuilt backyardigan build") !

While pursuing this competition from it's very first day and with your generous help you have kept my entry in the lead of the Class Car entries and at or near the top 20 overall of the Asphalt category entries from day 1.

Currently our Class Car entry is holding 19 th place in the available subcategories(oldest entry/most views/most comments) of the Asphalt Category . The only drag racer ahead of us is a nostalgia rail. The rest are oval track cars of one sort or another.

As a further reminder, for continued support of this entry, you may go to this link

http://contest.alwaysachampion.com/c...owentry/962002

and vote once a day, a possible 4 more times before midnight EST., Sunday February 5. And possibly put this Class Car on the podium!

Many, Many, Thanks for your continued support and your patience!

Peter Ash
