Is there anyone running a dish piston/small cam (1982) 305 in pure stock? Wondering if they will run the G/PS index of 14.05 in a 3400 lb car? Or maybe the F/PS 13.75 at 3160? Would like to get my dad back into class racing, already has the car (monte carlo) and on a very minimal budget.
Thanks, Chris |

Thanks Guys,
Do you have contact info for Mike or Bud? Would like to get an idea of what I'll have to do to get it to go index. We had it out to the track in sept, Went 14.50 with an engine that had 430,000km, at F weight. We now have one that only has 80,000 km so hopefully that will help! It's just not in dad's budget to do machine work for a new engine. I'm hoping we can get it to run good enough for him to compete in our local series. Car Specs to date 85 Monte claimed as 82 8 point bar 8.5 rear 4.10 gears 29.5" slick th350 3180# w/driver, no ballast 305 dish piston, 416 heads, 055 intake, small cam Long tube street headers man steering I know we need to run exhaust, so another question i have is this, Should we run a smaller, 2.25 or 2.5 " dual exhaust or maybe a big single like 3"? Last year it only had a stock converter, We have a Coan 10" that should be around 2800-3000 stall, Will it help or hurt? Or maybe we need something all together different than either? |
