Colton, go to a div. race coming up in Nhra in your area. Find someone with your combo and do some talking. You'll probably find more info than you can rememeber and maybe some one with some spare parts cheap and role in and be competitve. Then you can build off that and be faster as time and money permit. But race Nhra, Ihra and some Assc. races good luck and have fun. (I agree with Charlie on this) and I think he know's your combo well.

I think I have a Alum intake for the 305. Stop by the pits and I will give it to you.

Any gm block, its the head #s that need to be right, intake and carb but the carb number can be diff if the cfm, size of the butterflys are the same and that is listed in the blueprint spec's sheet.

Thanks Bob, I'm the guy with the 305 parts. Y'all have all given Colton some great advice. He is a good kid and a great new driver that didn't grow up racing in a JR dragster that daddy's money built. This message board is one of my favorites because one can get some pretty decent answers to real question a Stocker newbe might have. And young stocker racers are few and far between. Although I only bracket race now I too was introduced to NHRA stock eliminator by a young man two years my senior working at a Piggly Wiggly store. He built my first 283 stocker motor in exchange for some hand lettering on his O/S wagon. That motor is still in great working order and has all the tricks allowed in the late 1970's. But with his help getting started, I've been racing ever since, and as any first generation racer knows how difficult it can be getting started in class legal racing. BTW, that racer that help me get started was the infamous "Pickles Gapp Flash" Dwight Southerland. Thanks Dwight

You are 100% right, we all had someone to show us the way. I look forward to meeting this young man at up coming races. If we do not offer help to beginners there will be no one left to race when all of us old farts pass on. Colton already has a sound start and should be ready to kick some of our butts by mid season. I wish him well.

the manifold and cam match a 305-145 but your head # dose not match, print out the 82 spec sheet and use a ruler to read the lines. Its easy to get crossed up.

1982 and 1983 malibu wgns are the same. Call it a 1983 because you can both 305 combos.
There are to different 305 combos for a wgn that year. 305ci Flat top piston 253 NHRA HP fits J/SA, K/SA and L/SA The head you want is 416 Flat top piston 403/415 cam 432 or 055 intake Combo number two 305ci Dish piston 230 NHRA HP fits M/SA, N/SA and O/SA Same head as combo #1 Dish piston 357/390 cam Same intake #'s as combo #1
