Default AHRA sanctions second Ohio Track

According to the AHRA website Marion County International raceway in LaRue OH is on their list of AHRA Tracks. They now have as many Ohio tracks as IHRA. Wow!

Looks like I got my Christmas wish. MCIR is my home track. It started out AHRA and now they are again!

boy remember those AHRA Grand American National Events there Terry?
We had all the big names there, and I know nobody will believe this story but Don Prudhomme came over and went fishing with my Grandmother and myself at the little pond beside the staging lanes when they had a big oil down on Saturday one year of the event. She didnt know him from Jack, but i knew who he was and jumping out of my seat and she treated him like he was the guy next door, we relieved hats and tee shirts later that day.
Here is a shot from the early days at MCIR, killer rocks in the pits!

Hahaha Joe. In our toolbox we take to the track, we have what is called the Don Prudohmme Screwdriver. Its a screw driver that was left out all night on/by his trailer. My father, much younger than even myself at the moment thought it would make a good souvenir!

Chris,
He should sanction with someone. I think it would give him better car count and improve his tracks image but it would have to be very inexpensive for him to do this. He & I have talked about sanctioning the track and when I read about AHRA I called him and let him know about them. Maybe he will.

Joe, I really don't remember much about the Grand Nationals at MCIR, I guess I was too young. When they moved it to 42, I couldn't wait to get old enough to compete, but the AHRA went away before that happened.
BTW, in that pic, looks like the old 'Fat Cat' Plymouth in the staging lanes. Neat pic.
