Thumbs up Re: bob harris & jim tuner

After all that rain I never thought they would finish this race...when we started back racing at 9:00 or whatever time it was the track was as good as or better than it was all weekend. Thanks to the Piedmont staff and IHRA for bustin their butts to get this race finished on a safe race track.

The new asphalt was nice but going back to the mid 90's Jim put gravel down on the whole pit area then planted grass on top of the gravel, just put seed down. So what you have is 2 inch french drain in the whole pit area of sorts. In other words I dont think anyone got stuck in the pits since there is no real mud there. The worst place in the pits is where the IHRA trailer was. Last year we had 5 inches of rain in 2 days and ran the next day. I knew they were pushing curfew but they did one hell of a job getting it done. I went to momma house and ate when it started raining, there were tornado warnings out and after getting soaked mommas cooking is #1.
