1/2 the racers are for it, the other 1/2 are against lifting the AFHS for this race. I'm not sure if there was official call made on this or not.

It will take .85X under to make the show of 128 cars so no one will be able protect their average.
If a racer is on the outside of 128 show up early to staging on elimination day you might just get to race as an alternate. Alternates will only get 10 points if the race but if you win you get all the money, contingency, and the big Wally. Last year there were some singles first round because some alternates did not go to staging lanes. |

The announcement was made some time ago. There will be no AHFS applied to the runs at Indy.

[QUOTE=Larry Hill;698922
Last year there were some singles first round because some alternates did not go to staging lanes.[/QUOTE] Last year at Indy there were plenty of alternates in the lanes. NHRA personal didn't have a qualifying sheet and didn't know who was the first or last alternate. It was total kayos and racers were skipped over. Casey Miles |

This was spoken of after the Big Go and I just don't get it. If you're a veteran racer and who believes there's a chance to get into the eliminator as an alternate why would you not go to the top of the lanes for the first round?
As for the NHRA official why on earth did they not drive around the pits with a list and alert those eligible or make an announcement or a text? Why in God's name was there chaos at the biggest event of the year? Shame on everyone. Last edited by Frank Castros; 06-26-2024 at 09:37 PM. |
