Divisional races are not money makers for the West Coast
tracks. In my opinion, several of the few remaining tracks are struggling to survive. My son won Stock at one of the last Division 7 races at Top Gun and there were only 22 entries. I hope Top Gun survives the next few months!

I think its time to work with Tucson and support the track and make it worth Jim Hughs time he is a real good guy he let me license my COPO there during a bracket race and even signed my license . We had to tow from Albuquerque NM because are track went IHRA .and its are closest NHRA track. Lots of real nice racers there to.

Recognize Sonoma has essentially turned away from drag racing given their revenue stream from various road course events but it’s surprising Sonoma National isn’t half full and only takes a single grade point to get in. Have the D7 racers essentially thrown in the towel?

I agree with your assessment, losing the Division race the weekend before the National Event seems to have made it less attractive to those that have to travel longer distances. However, the National Event definitely packs in a large crowd. |

There was a National Open this weekend at Rock Falls Raceway. I hope this was a trial run for them to hold a Division 5 race next year. There was 4 Pro Stocks running on Saturday and the race was well attended. Jim Greenheck has invested alot of $$$ in the track and is a great facility.

Fallon probably lost money when they had divisionals. Parking isn't that good if your not the first few rigs.Hard to improve when you're not making money. These roads get long out west. Tucson was/is a long ride for northern Californis racers.California has the only fast tracks in division 7. The doubes are nice but one fast Bakersfield race in April would work with class. Maybe an open with one.
