Default Hood question:

'69 Camaro... 427...
Can the SS hood be run on that combo, or cowl hood only?

Asking for a friend...

69 Camaro SS engine combos

350 300HP
396 325HP
396 350HP
396 375HP both Aluminum and Cast Iron heads

427 was not available in SS trim in 69 Camaro.

69 427 Camaros were COPOs. I'm quite sure that the cowl hood was part of the package.
I have to ask, why would your friend WANT to run a SS hood?

The 427 had the cowl hood as it was part of the package.
Any of the 1969 SS cars had the cowl hood as an option, so it can be run.

And, why would your friend want to run an SS hood, as it is heavier than the cowl hood and does not provide the same air flow?

If he really, REALLY wants to run the SS hood instead of the cowl hood could he do it by running in SS/GT?

Can't answer that because nobody knows if the op is asking a Super Stock or a Stock question.
