Reportedly, every day he thought about the two servicemen who lost their lives when he was shot down. Likewise, I’m sure he thought about his young daughter who was lost to leukemia. From the life he led it was obviously not about wealth or power but rather service and family. A POTUS who will be judged well by history.

When 95 year old Bob Dole, stood and saluted his casket.....I lost it.

While we received about 4 inches of rain yesterday, I devoted most of the day to watching the final proceedings on behalf of George Bush 41,since I was indoors most of the day. It started with the train ride from Houston.The wonderful sight that struck me were the thousands of persons lining the track watching Union Pacific #4141 leading the way and the respect and patriotism that ensued. The dignity, class, respect and love and concern he had for our great Nation was so strongly returned to him at this time, and the whole Bush family as well.It offends me that this wasn't adequately portrayed to him during his term of office and his lifetime as well. To live well as he did,even after office, and to reach out to all those he could, shows a gentlemanly style of class severely lacking in this day and age. Hoping for a resurgence of that kind of sense of duty and patriotism in the future. Thank you all who made this life a legacy that it deserves to be remembered for.
