Default Frank Sheffield RIP

I received a phone call yesterday from Cheryl letting me know that Frank Sheffield passed away about 10 PM Saturday night. Frank had just turned 68. He had been in a nursing home near Columbus OH since suffering a stroke two years ago. There are currently no plans for a viewing but there may be a memorial service sometime in the future.

Frank and I met when we were teenagers. That was back in our street racing days. The night we met I beat his 64 Falcon with my 63 Galaxie. Later on Frank bought a new 68 Z28 Camaro. A few years later when I was teching at Ohio Valley, I got Frank a job working there. After I started working at NHRA events I brought Frank along and the rest is history.

Rest in peace my friend.

If I'm remembering correctly Frank Sheffield was the guy that worked pit control during the day and then in the evening sold the best wax and metal polish I ever used. I always wondered what happened to him. Sorry to hear he passed. RIP Frank.
