Needing info on a 10 over front to back thurst bearing. too much crank end play. std bearing size. acl had what was needed but r out of business. king bearing only does 302 main size. not the 2.749 main size n this 9.5 windsor clevland main size block, will FE thurst bearings fit? thanks mark young.919-427-2747

FE & C thrust bearing specs are almost identical, FE housing bore (main od size in block) FE spec is .0005 smaller than C could put FE thrust bearing in C would have slightly less crush on bearing and would probaly have .0005-.001 more clearance.
Should be able to rebuild thrust without doing anything else to crank. If in rush maybe able to cheat it ,could possibly set cap towards front or back to offset thrust bearings to get by a race or two. Mike Taylor 3601 |

Is it possible to have the crank and bearing coated to reduce the clearance.something that I had thought about, are would the coating just rub off.

16 and nothing was galled. just shiny crank. mite just ride it till it causes a problem then weld it up if no oversize end play bearings r made for it.
