Default 1971 plymouth duster 318 super stocker

I got myself a 1971 duster. been doing some research and would like build it into a super stocker. thought about doing stock but I like my trans brake button. been doing some research on it and saw that 318 only came with a 2 barrel which is a tiny one. for super stock though can you use a 4 barrel thermoquad. on that engine. also with camshafts in super stock can u use what ever one you want. all input on this would be great thanx guys

If there are no 4 barrel 318 in the 1970-1972 Dusters for you to run a natural class, you can instead run your car in a GT class and run whatever year 318 combo that you would like. We have a 72 Duster we run in the brackets and if we go Super Stock with it, we plan on run the car in a GT class. Hope that helps.

thanx Cutta

its looks like if I use a 1980 318 4 barrel in a 1971 duster it would be a GT/GA thats what figured out but I could be completely wrong lol

There are quite a few 318 SS cars running around the US. The first 318 4v was in 1978 in a Volare/Aspen. You could go through the different year combos (and different factors) to see which one fits the Duster the best.

We LOVE and race 318 Mopars. However, The 71 340 High Compression engine @ 279 and
72 340 Low Compression @262 in SS are way better than a 318 Low Compression @ 250
or 254 in our opinion for your Duster.

E mail us if you need any more about these combos.
