Especially Super Stock! We finished our round over an hour ago and before Alcohol and they are posted!

BTW...Sometimes the DRC home page is slow to update. You can always see results more quickly if you go to "Last 30 Items" or "Last 100" items.

Jim, I wasn't trying to offend you. I REALLY like the fact that you guy post results on your site. Thank you for doing what you do.

I will have to say that I have been guilty of complaining about the speed of the updating on DRC but then I catch myself and remember what it was like just a few years ago when I had to wait until the National Dragster or Drag Review came out to get results. How quickly we forget how it was! Thanks to all you guys at DRC for the hard work you do, we know it isn't easy! Jim

All of us work to post results as quickly as we can during a race weekend. But there are some factors, particularly during qualifying, that force us to sometimes wait to post.
For example, there may be new drivers running or drivers who have switched numbers. In both cases, they may not show up in our database so we have to look at the tech cards to get the info to enter them in. If one of you drivers switches classes from the last time you raced, we don't know that until we check the tech cards or the qualifying sheets that NHRA puts out. If we don;t check every driver for the correct class, the qualifying order could be messed up. During qualifying, we also have to wait for all cars to clear scales so that we know if anyone's run needs to be DQ'ed. That takes time. All of this assumes that we are at a track at which we can get a data feed from the timing system. At some tracks, such as Lebanon Valley in D1, there is no data feed so I have to enter all the run information manually through the keypad. That can take time too. Other times, such as this weekend, things just move slowly on the track. Oil cleanups, etc. can add delays that are not apparent to someone who is not at the track. I have been to every NHRA D1 points race since 2001, except for the 2007 race at Englishtown (I was in the hospital). So when I see a comment that D1 results are always slower than the other divisions, I do take it a bit personally because I am trying to do the best I can. Jim |
