Why doesn't NHRA go back to running off the national record like in the "old" days for stock and super stock eliminations. Use the CIC like comp to eliminate 'sand bagging". Get rid of the now glorified bracket racing style of todays stock/ SS racing.

Nice well thought out idea. You think people are slamming the brakes on at 1000' now, imagine how this would change things...

One problem would be with the proper teardown. West coast rules East coast rules ETC.
If you want to stop the guys running to the 1000' mark. It's simple, take out the 1000' clocks. Nhra can't estimate what a combo should go based on the 1/8 mile numbers. 2 cars in the same class can run way different 1/8 mile numbers. But at the 1/4 mile be almost indentical.

Very simple. There are East coast rules, West coast rules. And the most important rules, The lawyer in your pocket rules.
