If you're willing to take a trip, Mark Yacavone has a V/Stocker that will run the index and then some, for far less than your budget. It might still be available.

Take a look down the page for the Malibu station wagon from Jimmy Parker, I need to sell my car before getting another one. That wagon is an excellent car plus it has a good history. (Jimmy I am not charging you for selling the car)

If my car was already sold I would be all in on that one, can be a stocker or bracket car.

What would you prefer...an older Chevy II, Nova, Chevelle, Camaro, or maybe an older station wagon or a newer style Firebird, Camaro, or Impala SS etc...I'm just curious because I've seen lots of rollers out there for sale that you could drop your own freshly built motor into one of them...
