I know most have heard about it. Is it interesting that the Massacre age is 30s 40s? Are the older gun buyers more mature?less exposed to video violence? Maybe having been in wars and witnessing death flattened the violence ideas. Is there any parallel of non military service in the deadly attachs we have seen? EDDIE any ideas?

Dick, Good question, I would say that 50% of the current SEAL force as some sort of PTSD. You would think that is would be a trigger point but is has not come to this.

don't know anything but whats on the newscasts---- cannot for the life of me figure what is/was going thru that guys head to make anybody do something like this---if he was pissed at 1 or 2 people yea maybe but to just go in a start blasting away gassing em and all I dunno shoot up 30-50 people WOW!!!! at least he didnt kill himself like the others always seem to do---maybe they can find out why he did it---prayers to all and his family too-- I'm sure they didnt raise him to do something like this---FED387

These guys that do this have lost touch with reality, in most cases they are acting out some part in their own fantasy with them as the good guy or bad guy according to their fantasy.
Almost all are psychopaths or sociopaths who have no empathy for their victims, the only thing that is important to them is that the fantasy is played out the way he imagines it. This guy dyed his hair red and has told the police that he was the Joker which may or may not be his fantasy, he may have told them that just to spoof them. He may not really know exactly why he acted out this fantasy but he will feel no remorse for his victims who he see's as "things".
If guns were banned these people would find another weapon to fulfill their fantasies, guns just give them a higher body count.

Prayers and thoughts go out to all the victims and their families.

the guy is (was if i had anything to say about it) 23-24 years old...booby trapped his apartment,too.

The three things in common of the three largest gun violence instances, Columbine, The Army attack and now the theatre -----------
They were all gun free zones. The owners of the theatre has a no gun policy.
Now look at the casualties fo todays attack.
It doesn't even equal a weekend in Chicago.
Chicago is also a gun free zone ! ! ! !

My neice lives out there and tried to get in the movie but it was sold out. I am very, very happy for her and my family. Thank you lord.

So many of these kids nowadays are quite pathetic. So many problems from a lazy generation.

So many young people used to having everything given to them... Then when they fail at something, or just find offense at something, they go ballistic...literally....

At lunch today, there was a smalll boy near our table who being a brat.

His parents were pleading and bargaining with him to be good. And he ws only about 8. What will they say to him when he says "screw you" at 15?

Too many permissive parents allowing/enabling their children to become a scourge on society. Someone mentioned a weekend in Chicago as being as deadly. How many of the shooters in Chicago even know their fathers?

My point is just that parents in the current generation, are afraid to be parents. They want to be friends with their children, abdicating their responsibility to the schools who simply do more of the same. i.e. no grades, everyone wins.....

Watch now, as the "anti gun drumbeat" has already begun. Wonder if he got his guns from the ATF?

I think you are going to find after the dust settles. That this guy was avidly into video games. He carried this fantasy to real life. And thought it would invigorate him. I believe thats why he booby trapped his apartment, so that if he fought a prolonged battle and was killed that the last "joke" would come from him.
I think he didn't get the enjoyment he thought he would get from shooting innocent people. So he quit playing the game, went out and sat or stood by his car and waited for police.
With the body armor and firepower this guy had he was ready for a shootout at the OK Coral. It wasn't simply a"suicide by cop" try.
Where normally I would wish there was someone else in the theater with a weapon. It probably would have hurt the situation and possibly have caused more carnage.
The media has not focused on where the tear gas canisters came from?
