Default Live from Sonoma LODRS

Well, I'll start this. Maybe Toby, or someone equally as qualified, will pick it up from here. I have no camera or video. I stay pretty close to my RV so not sure how much gossip I'll pick up! lol

My hubby, Don Little & I arrived here around 11. As we're not attending the national event next weekend (I'm so over those!) we are parked in the pro pits. Asphalt, walking distance to starting line, one row over from the driver's lounge (full shower in the morning, not the RV, conserve the water shower!) Tech was quick and we've had a relaxing day.

After dinner Don & I went on our traditional walk of the road coarse here. It's a 1.5 mile walk, with 2 climbs. One, in particular, I call Mt. Sonoma. I swear it feels like I'm having a heart attack walking up that thing! We burned off our dinner calories, for sure.

As the pits are literally all along the road coarse it's hard to get a perspective of how many cars are here. Both Don & I think there are less cars than last year.

Activities start up tomorrow at 8:30. Stock is out 2nd, SS 4th.

The weather looks to be nice all weekend, highs in the 80's. As is typical here, the wind comes up in the afternoon. It's always always interesting dialing in for afternoon runs.

Our golf cart almost didn't make it up Mt. Sonoma. Thanks for reporting and good luck!

Jack,

I'll be there Saturday with my camera in tow.

Helmet & fire-jacket? In the closet. Being a grown-up sucks sometimes! LOL

Thanks for starting this, I am enjoying the female reporting. And love your remark "I politely told Dad not to touch my stuff! lol" Thanks again for posting.

Yes, thanks for the reports, Julie. Patsy Hill does some pretty good female reporting also.

Here's a video of the second round of super stock qualifying from a male videographer:

Only 31 SS cars on the qual sheet. Jon Irving is having problems. If he gets thinks worked out, we'll have 32. Sure not the way things used to be.
Super Stock is 2nd out tomorrow. Should cause some movement on the ladder.
Should be done by 10am, I think it will be time to visit some local businesses tomorrow!

Good morning! It's race day in Sonoma. We have a 9am start, Stock out 2nd, SS out 4th. Second rounds won't be until after noon.

It was in the low 90's here yesterday, felt warmer in our asphalt pit! Temps are slightly cooler this morning than they were yesterday.

I see Patsy's pics from Columbus, all the green grass. Everything is brown out here except for the irrigated vineyards.

We did Mt. Sonoma again last night, so we kept to our goal of doing it every night. My calves are soooooo sore!
