Question IHRA HP Factor for 305

I am planning on racing at the IHRA divisional at Bradenton this month and would like to know the hp factor for my combo. The car is an 85 Z28 Camaro with a carbed 305 ci/175 hp and stick. For Stock, NHRA rates the combo at 261 hp for stick and 263 for auto.

Thanks in advance!

If you have no Morals, Claim whatever you want. There is not a single person In IHRA's staff Competent enough to catch it. Its a bracket race run under the guides of "Stock" class so they can charge you more and pay you less. They have zero interest in the performance aspect, but they do put on a good bracket race

Gary you sound pretty bitter. I think most realize NHRA could be worse. They enforce rules as they wish, factor by the wind direction method, create monsters by ignoring facts and then hold bigger bracket races, people love to attend.

Butler, your right. I am bitter about some racers lack of integrity displayed at IHRA's events. I'm even more bitter at IHRA's inability to understand that engine factors play a big role in our eliminators. They just don't get it, from the Head of Tech (who thinks 99,00,02 LS1 F-body's don't get HP when a 01 got it) to the dude running the scales (who thinks we qualify on RT....<--- WTF are we weighing for then?) to the starter and Division Director (who lets a guy dial half a second over his index and still go to the next round). This is just a sample of things that happened at one event. Have you ever seen the way they keep track of the HP ratings? It’s ALL a F’in JOKE.

So, to the original poster. Claim what you want. Qualify #1..... If you lack Morals.

You keep harping on the '01 F-Body and your dead wrong and making yourself look foolish. IHRA made a mistake for a week (due to an '01 hitting the hp) and fixed it immediately after. All LS1 F-body's are rated the same. Not only that, but IHRA had the sense to make LS1's rated the same regardless of hood, what a novel concept.

Thank you for your response Brandon. Does anybody know if that hp rating is the same for stick and auto?

Thanks,

This is how it is listed on IHRA's website..

Stock Eliminator HP adjustments:

• 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 396/375/390 increased 5 to 395 HP.
• 1982 Jeep 242/190/170 increased 5 to 175 HP.
• 1985 Chevrolet Camaro 305/175-253 increased 5 to 258 HP.
• 1991 Chevrolet Camaro 350/245-260 increased 5 to 265 HP.

this is from 9-22-09 the last time that motor had a hp adjustment..im sure tech will be able to tell you at the track if its the same for stick and auto...
