Default Amx s/s

Hey Ed F. and Jeff L. this is up your alley. And I would not dream of putting this in the "ugly" thread.

There has been much discussion on this particular car on several of the AMC sites. It appears this was a dealer built clone using AMC parts. It was a lot cheaper than buying direct from the factory. But then again, true factory built Super Stock AMX'es are worth a whole lot more than a clone! This car lacks the required spread on true factory SS VIN's. There is a push by a few to have the car "accepted" as an original because of it's racing pedigree and dealer built status. I wish them luck.
I have a buddy here in AZ with #3 of the original's for sale. $135K buys it. As you can see, there is a pretty large gap between pretend and real.

The Vin # doesn't lie. It's a clone and pricing should go a bit higher and would be reasonable for a car that needs to be finished. In the end you wind up with SS clone car.

I think I will go take a closer look at that AMX down the road I pass every day. If it is a 390 car I am gonna sell everything I have to buy it. I had no idea what they were worth.
