Isnt some this what a lot of us on here have been saying for several years !
Way to many classes plus the odd singles has caused a lot of these changes.

Terry here we go again. There were 50 classes in stock eliminator in 1976. There are 51 now.
I'm glad I found out who has been pushing for this. The same company (that owns FAST) that, when I called and asked for some help setting up my 2 year old (brand new from fast)Told me the unit was obsolete, and I should go buy another one from them ($3000 each).
They say paid out $70,000, Well how much money did the racers (a lot of whom never made a buck) Spend. I personally have nothing on my car from the comp cams group.
Thanks to them I found an ECU that does twice the job for half their price.
Racers that are unhappy or happy with this change. Should vote with their wallets

Most of the bogus classes are in SS. Not Stock.

Cool Re: Class Contingency

The fact remains that there are to many classes. I dont care if there were 50 or 51 classes back in the 70's. That was to many back then also and that is when I ran in NHRA S/S. Even back before the massive use of trans brakes I found very little difference between the 4 speed (Non Cluthless) and the P/G combo I ran. Probably even less in the higher classes. The classes should be cut in half. Combine the stick vs auto. Use a slight wt break if necessary to even out the lower HP to wt. combos. Use one lb breaks in stock. Most are there already in S/S.....finish S/S up in the higher classes and the GT classes. It hasen't hurt the S/S cars. There are way to many singles and handicap start races because of this and thats why some are calling it just another bracket race. Remenber when class usually took around 4 or 5 rounds to win class and you had to win class to run the eliminator ! Its bracket racing pure and simple as it is today. No wonder there are no spectators in the stands and interest from the manufacturers and TV people. Some will never get it. Your to interested in a "Cash Cow" to pay for your entry and travel expense. You might as well build a bracket 1 car and save the travel expense. Your bottom line will thank you for it.

Sorry. Everyone including me has hijacked this thread.
Here is the link for the Lucas oil series.
For class they will only be paying for the three Sportsnationals and Indy. So it will probably be in dragster the week of Belle Rose

Alex, was it a locking dip stick? Or are there certain "NHRA package" locking dip sticks required? I thought all the locking dip sticks were eligible.
Thanks.

Yes Ed, it is a Lokar locking dipstick kit.
No sir, they are ALL not eligible for contingency so if you do have one you better check the part number.
There are very few that actually are eligible for contingency payment.
You would think that they would have paid us since we did have (and sell) their product especially to simply promote racer good will. Apparently the Lokar reps time wasn't worth much as he dedicated way too much of it to not pay us.
