Default Rules

Since we're a bunch of malcontents and bitchers and moaners here's a question.
What ONE rule or procedure would you like to see our fearless leaders in Glendora
strictly apply in this coming year?
One and one only.
Fasten your seat belts,it's going to be a wild ride.

"The Golden rule" Treat others as you would like to be treated. If you apply that everything will be just fine!

Cool Re: Rules

Apply the correct HP factors to any and all combinations no matter what the year they were built. New, old, injected, carburated.....dosent matter.....by getting rid of the AHFS for starters. .

Ed, Are you saying that you know of cars that have set records that HAVEN'T been torn down? If so, where? And better yet, who?

We've been torn down five times at National Events over the years and in several instances have still had the seals on the engine a couple of weeks later and set the record, and we always have to tear down again for the record.

Maybe it says in the East Coast NHRA Rule Book if you hold your mouth just right you can skip the Record Run Inspection.

The West Coast NHRA Rule Book "requires" an inspection after setting a record.

There you go, see the East Coast Rule Book is better than the West Coast Rule Book.

We haven't set any records on the East Coast, so we always had to pull it apart after setting a record

Jerry,I saw one a while back and heard of another second hand.
I figured this thread would go to ***** (not your post Jerry),and it didn't take long.NHRA is going to get away with letting our eliminators go to crap due to lack of pressure on them to correct a lot of problems, whether caused by us or them.
I think I'll pull the plug on it.
NHRA does teardown cars when a car runs fast enough to set a record. The incedent I saw concerned a car going stupid fast, then
coming back the next run without the B on the window. That's not NHRAs fault. That's a case of the racers making a mockery of the
system. It was his option to do that, but it doesn't mean it's right. The other incedint was the alledged radiator emptying a while back.
I hope that clears up my statement, which I have deleted from my original post.

What would be your method of applying the correct HP factors? The AHFS did away with personal opinions one might have of another racer or race car when considering HP factors.

Every year, over the winter NHRA should look at all of the combos that went "silly" fast over the course of the previous season and in one shot bring them back into line. Example, if one combos "average" is 3 tenths faster than the rest of the classes "average" then give that combo enough HP to slow it down at least 2 tenths in one shot.
