Island Dragway
Haven't seen this on here yet but noticed on the D1 site there was a mention that Katie Kowalick passed away yesterday. She and her husband built Island a long time ago and ran some pretty good races there. I'll always remember her as the one who handed out the checks after a day of racing. Strange the things we remember.

I am sorry to hear Kate passed. She has been ill for a long time.....She Was a nice lady...tough for sure but I could usually get a smile out of her and she treated me very well when she was running things......My condolences to her family......

She was always a very nice lady -- even when we as racers weren't so nice - spent many a Saturday night there and always felt welcomed by her -- she'll be missed ................RIP Kate

as Rich,John said..Kate was "tough"...but fair/good lady...always treated myself/family very well...her late husband Ed was indeed a good-good guy too...who "booked" us in many times...in the early funny car days...her son-in-law Hank Dinger (longtime announcer)...and son-in-law/daughter Tony & Kathy DeMarcky,daughter Georgette..."straight up"...as they come!...our family wishes...all...our very sincere condolances...Drake Viscome & family
