I am currently putting together a 1964 Savoy to run in stock. Can I use this motor in a 64 car and what class would I be in, A/SA ? Is there anything I would have to change to make it legal in a 1964 car since it is a 1963 motor? I am very interested and motivated :-)

Sorry Fred: it's a legal 1963 stocker engine. '64 uses different CC heads and pistons. Everything else would be legal. Thanks, Jim... PS, I could throw a set of '64 heads in on the deal. Call me.

The '63 Max Wedge uses different carbs, rods, intake, pistons and heads than the '64 version.

Rods won't matter as you can use aftermarket rods, '63 uses 3447 carbs while the '64 uses 3705's that flow almost 200cfm than the '63's, intakes are designed differently and have different PN's, '63 is 13 .5 :1 while the '64 is 12.5 :1. Legal aftermarket parts might change some of the above but they will not swap between years and be legal.

The six 3447 carb's I had all flowed between 597 and 600 CFM on my flow bench, the 3705 I tested flowed 700 CFM on the dot. The so called 64 mani's are frequently dated May 63 as mine is and they all should have the same part No.
