Question Superstock Intake?

What is the most used BBC intake on a superstock engine? Does it matter if a 4150 or a Q-jet carb is used on making your decision? Just wondering.

The old Holley 300-4 Strip Dominator works well, but it is old, and slightly out of date. The Edelbrock 2902 Victor JR works well, and the 29020 has more material to allow port matching. You should probably talk to some one like Mike Heintz, Jimmy Bridges, or Kenny Schindler, they're all really great guys, and pretty helpful to talk to. Bub Whitaker and Darrell Wikle are a couple of others that can help.

Wink Re: Superstock Intake?

Jeff,,,, luckily, (is that a real word?) you're blessed with a Camaro which is allowed a cowl hood that provides extra clearance. I 've got a guy out here, (who you know) thats going to try to do this with a 69' Nova which means we have to get it to all fit under a flat hood since no cowl hoods were offered on those cars.
So far with the engined "mocked up", that Ol' Strip Dominator like Allen mentioned, has provided the most clearance, however it is an outdated design. This will be a rectangular port engine. I don't know what the rules are at this time regarding centerline height of the block, but the car does have front and rear plates, so I'm sure some adjustment can be made by moving some holes around to lower the engine. I'm hoping someone can pipe in on this as far as legality. We've still got time to research this as other areas of the car are getting completed first, but its something we've been wondering about.
Good luck finding the right intake for your deal,,,take care.
