This is a huge loss to the whole performance automobile world. I remember watching his earliest drag cars compete at Connecticut Dragway and at many other eastern seaboard tracks. What a huge success story.....Mr. Tasca is probably the biggest reason the 427 Thunderbolt Fairlanes were put out there by Ford, along w/so many of their other successful drag -race -oriented models....WJ

We have lost another one of our pioneer's that helped lay the bedrock of Pro Stock, Super Stock, and Funny Car.

My sympathy to the family.

Unhappy Re: Another Legend Passes, Bob Tasca Sr. has died.

A sad, sad day; the Tasca team of Bill Lawton and John Healey were as close to unbeatable as you can get. I have fond memories of all of the Tasca cars with 777 on each rear quarter panel, and suivez moi ("follow me" in french) on the decklid. Also, without Bob Tasca building the first engine at his dealership and showing it to the Ford engineers; the 428 Cobra Jet engine would not have been introduced. He will definitely be missed. My condolences to the Tasca family.
