now that does bring back memory's
i grew up less than 2 miles from the fairgrounds
lot of big names raced there and sons did too aka sterling marlin ,bobby hamalton, few more
i was in stands at most of those races have program signed by petty in 64

sadly i remember when the fair had trotting horse races on the track back when it WAS a horse track that they let the cars run on


sad part to all that history is our mayor has now closed the track no more state fair there either

Yep Jim, I don't think the proposed $600mm convention center could even come close to matching the entertainment value the fair grounds has provided over the years. Lots of history was written there......
