Default TS/TD at National Events - Here it comes!!

A solid source within the NHRA has told CompetitionPlus.com that Top Dragster and Top Sportsman will be part of the sportsman line-up at select national events in 2010. Reportedly the NHRA is high on the idea of sportsman racing at 200 miles per hour and the introduction of the two classes will run be on a schedule similar to one currently employed by Super Street, a race in each division. Top Sportsman has been contested for the last few seasons at the NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga., on an exhibition, invitation-only basis.

We already knew it was coming, just a matter of when, where, and who is the odd ball out? My Money is on Comp as one of the classes, not that I want to see any classes deleted cause people have A LOT of money invested in their cars.

Maybe no one will be eliminated at this time, remember car counts are down & they want to keep the fans happy.

Thumbs down Re: TS/TD at National Events - Here it comes!!

we'll just get shoved farther out in the boondocks to accomodate their pit spaces.....I'd bet on super class quotas in the 60's.. ......Tom

I'd like to see 48 car feilds , and ALL classes run every event
Then we could have a S/ST world champ.

Just a few points, I dont think they will eliminate any classes, but I agree with Tom, they'll cut the counts down in some classes to accomodate the new classes. I cant see E-Town taking on the Top cars, they are always strapped for time. In D1, I could see the Grove, or VMP as the tracks to have TS/TD.
I dont know how many cars they will have in TS/TD, but I will say if you arent running in the 6's, you'll probably be spectating.

most def. on the 6's , just think about the pro mods that can't run in th high 5's or 6.0's , they will now be looking to run T/S . So it will probably be like IHRA and a bump of 6.80's low 90's in a 48 car feild
