both me and my wife have Ohio rotating assy's in our cars. 468 Pontiac and 489 BBC. we love them. Great service. Reasonably priced. both are the 4340 stuff. Got the long rods and JE pistons in both.

Don't know much about the Ohio stuff, you'll have to take someone elses word on them, but I was very impressed by the quality of the SCAT crankshafts. .....I've had 2 recently that checked for size and index as good as a Callies ! and they balanced well too. ......Sure can't say that about any of the Eagle stuff I've used. .....Tom

"Compstar" here crank and rods in my Dart/Brodix 565" somewhere between 900-1000hp. Very nice pieces for the $$$$ IMO.

My brother just broke a 4340 Scat rod. I was less than 3 years old.

No question that Callies is one of the best , and American made. however ,I recently broke an American made Carrillo rod with only 150 runs on it. ........Anything can and will break, regardless of where it's made. ........ As far as middle priced components go, I'd still take the SCAT over Eagle or some of the others.. .....Mainly due to the fact they are machined here not offshore, the size and finish has been excellent on the ones I've seen . ......... Tom

I'm using a Callies crank in my small block Chevy SB2. As of now it will only be running 7200-7500 through the traps. I think at low RPM's the Ohio cranks will hold up but I wouldn't want to rev those Crankshafts too high.
