We want to convey our heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the drag racing community for the outpouring of love and support you have shown Wyatt and I during the death of our beloved husband and father – Doug McRobie. DRAW was very quick to contact us with assistance, RFC personnel reached out with support and follow up care, the National Trail personnel and Jeg’s have all been very kind during this most difficult time.
We have received so many cards/emails and unbelievable contributions for the fund that was established for Wyatt’s future - many from folks we don’t even know personally. Special recognition and thanks goes to Derek Beach who designed and implemented a decal program in Doug’s memory. To all of our friends who are assisting us with all the details that remain - you are completely wonderful and we can’t thank you enough! It has all been quite amazing and humbling to be on the receiving end of all of this; the drag racing community is just an awesome group of people and I feel privileged to have been a part of it for as long as I have!! Please know that you have provided much comfort to us and this will forever remain a wonderful memory when we think of Doug and drag racing. Wyatt and I are adjusting and are doing well. Again, thanks to all of you for your phenomenal kindness and support. God bless each and every one of you. Irene and Wyatt McRobie |

Irene, thank you for the update on Wyatt and yourself. We are glad things are moving along. And yes, this is one hell of a sport we are all involved in. I just can't help but to continue to remember the great times.
Please call if you need anything, Barney & Penny 330-604-6049 |

Irene,
I can't tell you how sad we all were to hear of Doug's passing. In the sportsman classes, half of the experience is being able to go to the track to go hang out with your friends, and nobody expects this type of thing to happen to their loved one. Though I didn't personally know Doug, I did speak with multiple people who did, and they had nothing but the best to say about him. He will be missed. No words can possibly express my condolences for your loss. And please do continue to come to the races with Wyatt, as I think I speak for everyone when I say that we would be honored to have you.

It is very sad to see such a devoted racer endure such a tragic event. Did anything ever come about the investigation? We are all still curious if there was a problem that we should look at in our own cars, to ensure such an event NEVER happens again!
