Default 09 predictions

Sitting here with time on my hands & nothing to do. Here are my thoughts on the coming year:
GM will drop Buick Or Pontiac, maybe both
Ford will dump Mercury
The big Three will cut back, if not get out of racing. NHRA ,NSCAR,etc
Any thoughts from any one?

Ford can't drop much more out of NHRA, they dont support the sportsman racers anymore at all, it seems all of thier support goes to Force. I like Force and all but I think if Ford were to help a little could maybe get a competitive Pro Stocker again.

GM, yea I can see dropping Pontiac, seem to be the same cars as under the Chevy banner anyway.

Mopar, dont have much more cutting they can do..

I think we will see alot less support for NASCAR this year as well, last I saw there are only 30 some teams so far with sponsorship for next season.

As for NHRA, I think there will be several events with less than the full field, and sportsman attendance will also fall off some. Alot of racers staying closer to home these days, or just not racing as much.

i see GM dropping Buick before pontiac.
i wouldnt be surprised if at least 1 or 2 races wont have a full TF field.
as far as the other classes i doubt that they wont have a full field.

After years of working on GM cars, from what I have seen Buick owners are an older group that maintain there cars, and buy a new one every few years.Pontiac owners are about the same as chevy owners, buy'em drive the **** out of them and expect warranty to cover everything. So that being said I guess Pontiac would be the next on the chopping block.
