Default Dodge Truck MPG?

Can anybody give me an idea of what kind of gas milage a '05 Dodge 2500 Hemi / 6 speed would get. I know the automatics are not to good. I tow an open trailer about 5000 lbs.

I have a 05' 1500 that gets 15-17 mpg towing an open trailer with a 3300 car.
I put a K&N kit and flowmasters to get that mileage. Not sure about a 2500 though.

Bobby, what MPG are you getting without the car/trailer?? That's damn impressive for a Hemi.My '02 4.7 is getting 13.5 pulling a 5500# open trailer/car combo.

Wink Re: Dodge Truck MPG?

I've got a bone stock 04' Hemi Quad Cab 2wd I bought new with almost 50,000 miles now, and going down the freeway if I behave myself, it will get 20-22 mpg. I've never checked it pulling my 24ft.Wells Cargo with my Nova in it, but its deffinately better than my old 454 Suburban that got 11mpg pulling or not.
Maybe I can check it this weekend if the rain stays away. Danny Durham

Thanks guys!

Are you guys towing with automatics or manual tranny's?

Bobby, I have been racing with you father, it's great to have him back up here in New England again.

After reading this I will be going to Advance Auto and purchasing a K&N kit. I have a '05 Hemi Ram 4x4 2 door auto and get 12mpg when towing at best.

What oil do you guys think produces the best fuel economy?
