It is time to submit requests per Travis and using the pathway he posted. What changes will help S and SS in your opinion for next year? Did you submit any suggestions?

Lowering the indexes will only rid the ranks of new people wanting to go class racing. If they can't compete after a short period they will leave never to return. Not exactly what class racing needs, less competition.
In my case just because NHRA will allow me to run a 4-speed as of 1/1/9 does not mean I should have to just to keep up. 567 passenger chevys never came with them & in my opinion should not be allowed to use them. Plus I will be darned if I am going to cut my original seat or put buckets in just to get a 4 gear in. Two changes I would recommend; 1) lower the trigger a bunch,so the fast guys can run flat out without being penalized. 2) Establish not just a minimum but a maximum weight that a car can run in a class. |

I understand maybe not hitting the indexes in Stock, so that could be entry level. A FAST stocker certainly isn't entry level. I don't have an opinion there. Super Stock, I think they need hit at least 1/2 second.
Refering to sugestion #2, I certainly agree. If it's heavy enough for the next class down, make them run there. By the way, how do guys legally run a car over 100 lbs heavy? I hear of people supposedly doing it, but the rule book says the ballast box and contents can't be over 100 lbs total, and anything else has to be bolted to the frame and the nuts welded to the bolts. It would be kinda tough to get that weight bar off real quick for a heads-up, wouldn't it? I'm old and kinda slow, so could somebody please enlighten me? Thanks.

If you are already 1.3 under, dumping at 1000 ft. and 500lbs overweight you don't worry about getting out run very often.
I asked them to look at ET vs. MPH vs. Scale weight and factor in the real world. Also asked for more support to the heads up classes that have had great spectator appeal. Also asked for an end to the rule change of the week. |

I'd like to see more money. Traveling expenses are through the roof. If a car qualifies you should at least get the gate back even if you go out first round.
