Smile St. Louis Open YouTube

My brother Joe has some video from the Open. He will try to get some more posted. We have some Top Stock and a bit of the other stuff too. Here is one of our Nova from there. If the weather is bad out, at least you can turn up the volume. The 283 sounds louder on the computer than it does in real life. LOL.

Question Re: St. Louis Open YouTube

James...nice video; I like the stock Chevy IIs.

How were the track conditions at the Open? I understand they installed new concrete in a large portion of the track, but not sure how much? Any info?

We're headed to the St. Louis national meet next weekend and was curious what to expect...

Default Re: St. Louis Open YouTube

The starting line was not new, but the next slab was. It was not real good out there. It was pretty cold and had rained so there were some tough moments for faster cars. I don' think this will be a problem since they have run on the track a few weeks now. It normally is pretty good at St. Louis. The Nova could drive through a mudpuddle. A 3 inch stroke is pretty forgiving as far as traction is concerned.

The biggest think about St.Louis is to bring plenty of gas for your scooter since we will be pitted in the circle track. Also, look for high ground. The rain really runs through the pits.

Talking Re: St. Louis Open YouTube

James...thanks for the track and pit info. Other than the starting line, didn't they replace quite a bit of the track with new concrete?

Don't believe we've been at St. Louis when it's rained hard, but have been there when it was pretty freakin' hot. (LOL) Maybe we'll get lucky next weekend, fairly decent temps and no wet stuff...
