Re: 2019/2020 Ram Diesel
I have a 2019 and love the truck. It has plenty of power as would any of the big 3. I think the engine brake on the Cummins is a bit better than the other two and is one of the underrated aspects of the engine. Mine is a one ton dually crew cab. The factory air bags are a super nice feature. They have a slightly softer spring rate for a better unloaded ride and the air bags make up the difference loaded.
It is my personal opinion that diesel trucks should be an inline 6 for a few reasons, but the one of the biggest reasons is you can actually get to stuff on the engine without pulling the cab. I know that you can get to the normal maintenance items on all of them without pulling the cab, but lift the hood of all three and see which one you would rather work on if it were you or a tech. |

Re: 2019/2020 Ram Diesel
I have a 2020 Ram 3500 Crew Dually 4wd with 1000 engine and 6 speed Aisen.
No Air bags. 35,000 Towing package (4:10 Gears). Tow Amazing but Murder on Diesel. 10 to 11 MPG @ 70 MPH on flat land with NO trailer or load in bed. My 2018 Ram 2500 4wd with Std Diesel and reg. automatic gets 18+ @ 70MPH (3:42Gears) on same trip!! I would not buy 1000 engine and big tow package UNLESS you are usually towing well over 20,000 regularly!! It is way overkill for a 24 to 30 FT. Enclosed trailer unless you guys own your own Oil Well out there.

Re: 2019/2020 Ram Diesel
Aisin is a Japanese Company very big Company one of their biggest product line is Toliet Seats, another of their product lines is automotive brake systems and of course Transmissions. Ram uses Aisin trans in the 2500 and 3500 HD trucks. Aisin also make front wheel drive automatic transmissions. If I remember Toyota uses a lot of their trans.
