cleaning race suit

Need to spruce up my 3.2A/5 pants and jacket. Is it ok to take to dry cleaners or.... will this comprimise it's flame retardant properties.

Sparco says to wash it in cold water and drip
Dry. Simpson recommends dry cleaning them which I have done forever without issue.

I use a product called Molecule Wash . It works great and is safe and recommend for fire suits.
My suit is holding up great and I think it actually is better than dry cleaning. The stitching seems to hold up better.
They also have protectant sprays for them stains and odors.

I've dry cleaned a couple times. No problems.

How would I clean my products?
When in doubt, mild soap and water will work with most any product. As for racing suits, wash in cold water and hang to dry. Some manufacturers recommend dry cleaning but to be sure of the chemicals used, you should wash at home. With helmets, a damp cloth and mild soap used to blot the inside of the liner will help remove any built up residue. Belts are susceptible to sunlight and water will speed up the aging process. Be sure to remove or cover belts when washing the inside of a racing vehicle.

What flame retardant properties do these suits actually have beide layers of slow burning material?

That’s it! If you’re in a fire, don’t t count on that suit to save your azz from severe burns. Thankfully the cars being discussed in this forum typically do not have fires.

This is real simple to do at home. As previously mentioned, Cold water and 2 Tide pods gets the jacket and pants clean every time . Hang on line to dry….There, you are done …
