New Year, New Decade, New Opportunity!!!
Now that the Super Bowl has brought the end of football for the 2019/2020 season, the baton has now been passed to those of us who enjoy much of our lives 1/4 mile at a time. Additionally, this new year and decade provide those few of us racing FWD cars, a new opportunity to do something that (unless I am mistaken), has yet to be done this century....win a LODRS divisional or national points race in fields full of RWD vehicles.
Mark Yacavonne still reigns as the only FWD racer to ever win a national event, however that happened way back in 1986 (the year my car "Shark Bait" was made)! The divisional scene has been a little bit more successful for front wheelers in that Bill O'Connor, and a few others(?), made their way to the winner's circle. However, all of those wins happened in the 19??'s....I would be happier if I'm wrong on any of this, but I don't think I am....
I was glad to see Kyle Tripp & Harry Morgan in action this past weekend in Orlando, and I hope you both have good luck in your efforts to get to the winner's circle during this season/decade. Moreover, once the season rolls along the rest of us who campaign these more challenging vehicles, will have our chances to join the battle. I'm looking forward to the battle with new slicks (REAL SLICKS), and wheels prior to D7's kickoff in Tucson. However, I will be rooting for Bill O., Ron S., Stan and Brent K., and any other FWD racers out there....LET'S GET OUT THERE AND GO FOR IT!!!!
