2012 Tri-State Stock/Super Stock Association schedule

Here is the 2012 Schedule for the Tri-State Stock/Super Stock Association. I may try a summer (maybe July) race at Hagerstown, I'm not sure yet. But the following races are set.

~Saturday-Sunday May 26-27, Quaker City Motorsports Park, Salem OH
Saturday we will run with the regular bracket program, $50 S/SS entry; Sunday we will run as part of the Nostalgia Classic, along with UMTR, Gassers, and some exhibition runs for nostalgia dragsters and funny cars, $100 S/SS entry. A much better, and cheaper alternative than going to Maple Grove that weekend.

~Saturday June 30, Pittsburgh Raceway Park, New Alexandria PA
2nd Annual Carl Schodde-Bob Butter Memorial S/SS race. Run in rotation with the weekly bracket program, $100 S/SS entry.

~Saturday-Sunday September 15-16, Pittsburgh Raceway Park
Saturday is the annual P.I.D./Keystone Reunion Nostalgia Nationals. S/SS ($50 entry), UMTR and ProStock, Nostalgia/SS, Gassers, and two bracket classes (Electronics and No-Electronics) for 1980 and older cars.
Sunday, $100 entry S/SS race, along with weekly bracket program.

~Saturday-Sunday November 3-4, Mason-Dixon Dragway, Hagerstown MD
Saturday, test and tune ($30, paid to the track), $50 entry S/SS race and bracket gamblers races.
Sunday, $100 entry, $2,000 to win guaranteed in S/SS, plus Electronics and Footbrake classes.

If we do not add a summer Hagerstown race, these will be our seven (7) races for the season. We will do points again, as the last two years. $25 to join points. You do not need to pay this to race; payouts for the races are the same for members and non-members. We will pay the top three points finishers, and third place will earn at least their $25 back. Your best four (4) of seven (7) races will count towards your points total. Points awarded per the NHRA Rulebook for Sportsman racing.

Roberts Family Motorsports is awarding $50 and a gift to the winner of each of our events this season. If anyone else would like to add some sponsorship for this season, please contact me. It can be anything you wish; money, gift certificates, etc.

This season (2012) will likely be the last season of events if car counts do not improve. Realistically, there's no reason we shouldn't get 20-25 cars per race, by the number of racers in the area. The last three years, we've drawn 18 or less every race, except Hagerstown in November, which has had thirty or more cars every year since 1995, except two. I love doing these races, but I can not continue to spend all my money, time and effort doing these races when they do not get the support they deserve. If car counts improve (20 or more at all the races), I will continue to do them in 2013. If not, there will likely be only the November Hagerstown race in the future (unless someone else organizes and does some races around the area). I sincerely hope you come out and support our events this season and please tell your fellow racers that may not have computer about the events.
