Annual P.I.D./Keystone Reunion Nostalgia race
Saturday September 10 Pittsburgh Raceway Park, New Alexandria PA Track is on US 22 Race #4 for the 2011 Tri-State S/SS Association All NHRA and IHRA-legal S/SS cars welcome Must dial your Class Index or quicker (IHRA Indexes, old NHRA Indexes used) 1/4 mile race (no sissy 1/8 mile stuff) Day schedule: Gates open: 8 am Time trials: 10 am Eliminations after time trials. I am guessing two runs for all, maybe a third if time allows. S/SS will likely be 1st or 2nd in rotation, so make plans to be there before 10 am. For late arrivals, we will try and do a clean-up run like last year (if we only get two runs), so everyone can get at least two runs S/SS combo ($100 entry, 100% payback), UMTR/ProStick series (two classes, with different ET breaks. I believe 11.99 and quicker and 12.00 and slower. S/SS stick cars may run both the S/SS and Stick classes), Footbrake race for pre-1980 cars, Nostalgia/SS, and exhibition runs for Nostalgia cars (slingshot dragsters, nost. f/c's and gassers) in between. Car show too. No regular bracket program. And Bill Truby's HUGE photo collection of older drag racing stuff from the area (PA, WV and OH). Car show ars can make 1/8 mile fun runs in between 'show' cars. 23 cars guarantee's $1,000 to win and $500 runner-up. Round money is $50 2nd round loser, 100 3rd, 200 fourth (400 4th round, if it goes six rounds. 40 cars guarantees $1,500 win and 700 r/u). If we can get a third time trial, we will do a Best Package run (similar to dial-for-dollars, but including reaction times). If we get a large total car count for all classes as we did last year, it's likely we will only receive two TT's. If time permits, we'll do a third run. This is race #4 for the season (actually #3, since Quaker City was rained out last weekend). Still plenty of time to join points, with five races left to be run (this one plus four more), best four races count, $25 points fee. You do not need to pay this in order to race, just to earn points. Members and non-members earn the same race payouts. -Tech cards will be handed out at the gate. S/SS car and driver are free at the gate ($100 race entry will be paid to me at the drivers meeting); crew/spectators are $10. They will come around and tech you at your trailer. Please put your NHRA/IHRA Competition Number (whatever car # you are using for this race) on the tech card. -Run order. We will be first or second in run order. There will be two (2) time trials. For late arrivals, we will do a clean-up session, so everyone will receive their two runs. Gates open at 8 am; time trials begin at 10 am. -Lane choice. We will runs in lanes 7 and 8, or 9 and 10 during time trials and eliminations. For eliminations, cars who are running the left lane, go in 7 or 9. Cars in the right lane go in 8 or 10 (depending on rotation that round and lanes we're designated for). That's the way they enter the car numbers/dial-ins, in the tower. Same rule as the race we had in June. Remaining Tri-State S/SS schedule for 2011: -Saturday September 17, Quaker City, Salem Ohio -Saturday-Sunday November 5-6, Mason-Dixon Dragway, Hagerstown MD race each day; $2,000 to win on Sunday One of these races (likely the Nov 6th $2K race) will count as two races, to make up for the lost Quaker City race from earlier this year
