Cool What will you do ??????

What will most stock and S/S racers do IF NHRA is put out of business by the IRS ? Where would you go to get your fix or would you just quit altogether ? Maybe a friendlier sportsman savy association would take its place ? How about Alex's US Class Nationals ? We havent heard much about the IRS investigation of NHRA lately. Any news ?

NHRA would reformulate itself with the same people and business model under a new name. Nothing ever really disappears. I already keep a pretty full schedule of non-NHRA events, anyway.

Then, maybe, just maybe, more people would see the light and race more IHRA! I know they don't cover the whole US like NHRA, but if more racers and manufacturers supported IHRA, they could grow to include those areas they are not in!

The only problem I would see with that is, what would happen the first time 90 stockers, 80 super stockers and 100 each of SR andQR show up at Pittsburgh for a double race weekend??? The would be F'd!!!

I know here in Div.1 there are S/SS races put on by Great people like David Ley & his Faithful Helpers, which i'm sure if there's no NHRA we will have more of those races in the course of the year.

Also, when you have Great people like Brian VanPoppel & Lee Zane putting on the Big $10,000. Race we would probably have more of those.
Of course you can make Stock & Super Stock seperate eliminators because you should get enough support from the racers.

If there are No more points races then you create your own.

If you charge $150. entry fee x 50 Stockers you have a pot of $7500. minus track fees.
You probably could have $2500 or $3000 to the Winner, more than you would make at a points race.

There are always ways for us class racers to do something other than racing NHRA events.

X tech man will stand behind us....lol

That would be a good problem and i would be willing to bet they would be prepared for the next one..
Even I might would consider going back to work with them then....I sais might ) lol

Thanks to how they low-ball'd the Tucson divisional with their desire for a march div. instead of the original Oct. date they offered (and then gave the date to 'Vegas after Tucson embraced Nitro Jam independent of IHRA), I'll be good regardless of what becomes of NHRA (and there enhancements). Being in San Antonio and seeing how the "friendlier sportsman savy association" seemed to be happy that I traveled so far just to support their race (plus the comraderie that I enjoyed there as well), reminded me of why I love this kind of racing (but at a much cheaper cost). Thus, I'm with Mike, Bryan, and Jim on this one whole heartedly!!!

Never say never and I dont believe IHRA's management is any better. Its to bad Bill Bader didnt stick with it. Besides...this was just for coversation. It dosent mean it would happen to either association.

This is where I go, but in the 60 Corvette! Don't get me wrong, I loved racing this car. I am trying to finish up my Corvette for Super/Stock but could get along just fine if all the racers give up on Super/Stock. The fun is in the building, and then playing with what you created with your own hands, in whatever arena

Super/Gas Racing 95-99.....................................Today cruisin the 5- speed on the street
