Just wondering if anyone has seen or payed attention to the schedule for the opening divison 9 race at Rockingham for this upcoming weekend. On the IHRA site it's Qualifying Saturday with a braket race and a combo race that night followed by the Summit Pro-Am race Sunday.. I like this type of schedule to have more than one race in a weekend but I'm a little confused on the payouts!!
BRACKET RACE $50 entry Win - $2,000 • Runner-up - $500 Semis - $100 • Quarters - $75 Buybacks 1st or 2nd round IHRA cars can run class set up Purse guaranteed with 48 cars STK/SS COMBO $50 entry Win - $1,000 • Runner-up - $200 Semis - $75 • Quarters - $50 Buybacks 1st or 2nd round Purse guaranteed with 48 car Same take-in but 1/2 the payout !! Never been one to complain and will enter the race regardless, but just thought I would see if it raised anyone else eyebrows!! Also I have never ran a combo race with buy-backs!! Maybe a Misprint Last edited by Jeffl52; 03-21-2011 at 12:47 PM. |

That is the same race schedule they have had for years,
As for the pay out I guess it is because they have more cars running Bracket than the Class combo.

That would make sense if they didn't both have the same 48 car requirement. Hopefully it is a misprint. If it is not a misprint it is a slap in the class racers face.

Jeff,
How long you been racing? You know the Top class gets more money than the bottom class. Always been that way. Last year They even allowed local bracket cars to enter the combo class. Chip |

I do however like this schedule much better than the Friday/Saturday deal they tried last year.

Ok Chip, Jeff and others...still think this payout is biased against class racers so think it's a poor way to boost participation, particularly "crossovers" from NHRA.
BRACKET RACE $50 entry Win - $2,000 • Runner-up - $500 Semis - $100 • Quarters - $75 Buybacks 1st or 2nd round IHRA cars can run class set up Purse guaranteed with 48 cars STK/SS COMBO $50 entry Win - $1,000 • Runner-up - $200 Semis - $75 • Quarters - $50 Buybacks 1st or 2nd round Purse guaranteed with 48 car

The combo and bracket race are put on by the track, not IHRA.
