HELP!
I need a little help w/ figuring IHRA hp and weights: what is the hp and weights for the following: 1. 98 Pontiac firebird (350 lt-1) hp? weight for SS/JA? SS/KA? 2. 99 Pontiac firebird (LS-1) hp? weight for C/FIA? B/FIA? is there a hp advantage for the flat hood? if so, what is it? Thanks in advance; as I could not seem to find a classification guide, |

I am pretty certain that IHRA rates both the ram air hood and flat hood the same, for stock anyways. Mike

Dean,
LS1 in a 99 bird w/auto is 342 hp in stock. I believe this rule is new for IHRA in 2010, but nonetheless if there is a difference in rating between the ram air and flat hood, you have to take the higher hp rating regardless of hood you are running. Hope this helps... Clint Blezien |

LS1 /auto Firebird
B/FIA = 3248 lbs C/FIA = 3590 lbs I'd double check the numbers at tech inspection but im pretty sure they are accurate. Best of luck! Last edited by Clint; 08-27-2010 at 09:33 AM. |
