Question Gear selection question

I am upgrading to a 565 from a 468 to run 9.90 in 2400# car. Do you gear for the 9.90 speed (155-160) or for the all out potential of the combination (165-170).

Thanks

The object of that big ole motor is big MPH so I would gear it to the potential of the motor a shorter (numerically smaller) gear will MPH better keep the revs down and be easyier to hook up in 60' and If you want to run a quick 8 or quick 16 you won't have to regear the car. So do the math.
