I know its an outrageous thought. Several very competitive .90 racers don't use a throttle stop a few even footbrake, so it would be the hardest of the hard!
Have a 4 speed challenger that I think would be a lot of fun, just have to add weight, and etc. Eric Merryfield Stk 1883

I can't remember his name, but there was a guy from the Phoenix area who ran a Mustang with a Lenco back in the early 90's in S/G. Also a friend of mine (John Campoy) ran a Vega with a Lenco. I don't think either one ever won a national, but both were competitive.
I've gone some rounds in S/G while footbraking, but that was with the old true 0.400 tree and incandescent bulbs (versus the 0.370 tree and LED), and I seemed to have an ability to see the start of the incandescent glow better than others.

I saw a blue stick shift Maverick taking names at the VMP NHRA Div'l race in the late '90s.

The blue Maverick is Ray Gottry, he's still racing it in D-2,and he can row throw the gears with that thing. I always loved to watch him leave the line on the mat.

A few years back i had a Mustang with a 4 speed Lenco i ran in S/C. What a fun time. Sold it and went the dragster route. Live & learn. should've never made that move. Had WAY more run racing that than the dragster. I even finished 6th in point w/ Midwest Super Comp Series that year.

Mike, was that Vega burgandy, & sponsored by Miller Beer? I remember such a Lenco equipped S/G Vega in Div.6 in the early 1990`s. Dean Peterson, from BC currently runs a 460/glide 67 Mustang in S/G, but his old "Boss Hoss" S/G Mustang had a 351Cleveland/Nash 5 speed. Also, Div.6 S/ST racer Bob Landery (sp) used to run a 4 speed in his Road Runner, although it had an automatic last time I saw it..
