Super Street
I am trying to decide which direction to take my racing for next year and am looking for some input. The best advice I have ever been given is to race something I can afford. I have to admit this has been hard to follow. I have done mostly bracket racing in both a door car and a dragster. I am from the central Pennsylvania area and do most of my racing at Maple Grove, Cecil County and Numidia. Several years ago I noticed that it was starting to look like it was going to take a seven second dragster to stay competetive at these tracks. At that point I decided to build a backhalved door car and try running the footbrake class. Though I greatly respect the effort it takes to become a competetive footbrake driver I'm not sure it's for me. Which brought me to this point of considering super street, but as I have read and heard it seems this class is now becoming populated by ex super gas cars or tube frame cars built purposely for super street. I guess at this point I'm looking for some advice or input. My main concern is am I going to be back where I started as far as trying to get seat time but running against seven second dragsters at weekly bracket races with little chance of success. Let me end by saying I have nothing against seven second dragsters but they just are not in my budget at this point, Sorry for being long winded and thanks in advance for any input.
