Default ss/bs hood

I am looking for a hood scoop for a 1982 camaro ss/cs. I think the opening has to be 5 inches from the hood. Anyone know where to get one? Or would a cowl be better?

Jim changed his hood some years back to a cowl hood. He said that previously it was hard to see if you were in the left lane with a big hood scoop.

After driving Adger's car with the scoop, I'd vote for the cowl hood, too!

If your looking for fast call Vic for the scoop and air pan. If your looking for the right way to do it call Vic! You should be able to see out of that car with a scoop. Remember the shoe sits in the back seat.. Hehe he

We just got the car and it needs a lot of work (hood, paint, motor, etc.) Dad is busy with customers' cars right now. It probably won't be running til late in the year. My cousin is going be driving the car and dad probably will some too. I think I will stick with my Mopar.... though I might drive it on a rare occasion.

I have a new (spare) Flat glass hood & a scoop that is pretty easy to see over that could be mounted to it.
Beard sat so low in the seat... (I think he had his hat, err helmet, cocked too) The scoop he drove with had to be high in the middle to clear the carb on the taller intake. If interested I'll try to get some pictures for you. My car ran quicker with the scoop, over the cowl hood.

This is the way it has to be to clear my carb/manifold combo. I got this from Vic & it is some scoop he cut down to fit. I think it is a Harwood. He has a new style scoop that is smaller & skirts the rules. I think Chase Williams uses it on his Comp car. Super Mod
Hope this helps.
